Kevin Lehman is a multi-media artist that earned his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of the Arts and his undergraduate degree from Millersville University. He is extremely engaged in his regional art community establishing a multi-media community art center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He has taught at several colleges as well as lectured and demonstrated at workshops. He has received several grants and won awards for his work. He has exhibited regionally at institutions such as: East Stroudsburg University, Elizabethtown College and Millersville University. He is the founder and director of the Lancaster Creative Factory which is dedicated to cultivating creativity through education of the visual arts and crafts.
Creativity is my passion. It is spontaneous and limitless. For this reason the work I create varies from functional to architectural to sculptural. My approach to working starts with an idea. Then I work through that idea leaving the process open to “happy accidents” which lead to other possibilities. The results are products of my ideas, experiences and the serendipitous nature of the creative process.
Thus the monolith series also deals with things that move in cycles. Monolith: Shine is representing day, summer and the high points in life. As we know the night, the winter and the low points are bound to come our way too.
