946. Chambliss House 743 S.E. Fort King Street

This Victorian Frame style home was built in 1891, and is named the "Chambliss House". Zack C. Chambliss co-founded the Munroe-Chambliss Bank, and served as the vice president. Mr. Chambliss also founded the first livestock firm in Marion County in 1892.

Below is a photo of currency dated 1914 from the Munroe and Chambliss Bank which was located downtown Ocala.

The second photo is of a bank advertisement dated 1920. Mr. Chambliss died in 1920 and is buried in Ocala's Greenwood Cemetery.
