Artist Statement:
The Trio is inspired by East African Luo women that carry objects with pots on their heads. The
purpose of this art work is to show the beauty of the Luo women. The goal I had with this project
was to learn more about the Luo culture and this piece really helped to accomplish my goals as
an artist. This art piece is made from clay and the technique used was coiling and a deep brown
for the bodies and a vibrant color for the pots on their heads.

The Trio está inspirado en las mujeres Luo de África Oriental que llevan objetos con vasijas en la cabeza. El propósito de esta obra de arte es mostrar la belleza de las mujeres Luo. El objetivo que tenía con este proyecto fue de aprender más sobre la cultura Luo y esta pieza realmente me ayudó a lograr mis objetivos como artista. Esta obra de arte está hecha de arcilla y la técnica utilizada fue enrollar y un color marrón oscuro.
